Open-mouth surgery
Oct. 15th, 2010 12:15 pmWell, that was a bucket and a half of no fun at all.
Tim-the-dentist has sliced and dug and scraped and snipped and sucked, and used a dozen different tools and gone off to get more, and ultimately fished out what he called "half a dozen bits of rubbish - not tooth, not really sure what they were, bits of bone maybe," and is now confident. Again.
Me, I have stitches and blood in my mouth and a building discomfort as the anaesthetic retreats, and a whole bevy of doubts to go with. We'll see.
Meanwhile, I have turned the heating on and up, and shall spend the afternoon at least indoors, and might not go out tonight, not even to see Sarah Waters. Again, we'll see. I would lie wanly on the sofa and watch the Commonwealth Games, but they're over. Instead I shall sit upright with a book. Or two. And a cat. Or two. Reading week begins right now (with grateful acknowledgement to
la_marquise_de_ for authority to do this, tho' I'm not sure I'll sustain it for a week).
