On the other hand...
Apr. 12th, 2011 03:20 pmIn the last six months, River of the World earned 'zackly ninety-nine cents in royalties. Which of course I do not actually receive, as it's set against the unearned advance; and meanwhile both my publisher and my agent have spent more than that in informing me thereof.
Somebody remind me why I bother? Or, possibly, why I care?
I'm going for a long walk on a short errand. I want to invent red-braised pork cheeks with green pak choi tonight, and I forgot to buy spring onions yesterday. So never mind the local greengrocers, five minutes there and back again; I'm going to walk all the way over the moor and back, and then I will at least feel more tired, if not actually better.
(On the other other hand, I was in e-correspondence this morning with Vonda N McIntyre, and then I came downstairs to read Among Others, and on page 217 it says (of the first Brighton WorldCon), '"Robert Silverberg was there. I talked to him! And Vonda McIntyre!"')
